Fairmont Jaipur: a Royal Destination

The first and only Fairmont Hotel in India, built in the traditional style of the region’s grand Mughal palaces, this really is a luxurious stay. Launched in 2012, Fairmont Jaipur is the Fairmont brand’s first property in India. Tucked away in the Aravalli hills, Fairmont Jaipur pays tribute to the Pink city and features a décor inspired by the Mughal dynasty and Rajputs.

Fairmont Jaipur offers panoramic views of the lush Aravallis and enchants of various recreational facilities and excursions available for guests of this palatial hotel. Gaze at the splendid structure of Amer fort or the mighty Aravallis when the hot air balloon ride takes you to the tranquil skies. Thrilling safari on the elephant to nearby villages for picnic is praised by guests.

They have 245 guestrooms and 7 suites of this luxury hotel blend traditional Rajasthani décor with modern amenities. Doors made with timber, low-seating daybeds and arched windows, opening to an uninterrupted view of the Aravalli hills, are some of the in-room details that add to the royal vibe of this place. The bathtubs are heavenly and the best part of the already dreamy rooms. The hotel’s pool is also a highlight and perfect for relaxing besides with a cocktail in hand. The facilities for children were excellent with a separate swimming pool complete with inflatables and toys.  The polite and super attentive staff were always at hand to give advice and recommendations, booking taxis and arranging excursions or babysitting.

Fairmont Jaipur houses 8361 sqm of space for organising meetings and social events. The Grand Ballroom and seven meeting rooms are embellished with chandeliers, gold-infused murals, and delicate mirror work. The property also offers a spacious lawn where you can have large and small gatherings.

They have revitalizing wellness centers including equipped gymnasium, a swimming pool and tranquil spa is a nirvana for patrons. Fairmont Jaipur is bedecked with grand ballrooms, royal court style board rooms, and lusty green lawns making it an ideal destination for sumptuous themed weddings, glamorous product launch and high-end corporate conventions.

After we arrived, we had a grand welcome from them.  As soon as we stepped out of the taxi,  a welcome trumpet fanfare played from the turrets above and we were whisked into a symmetrical frangipani garden before settling into the opulent reception with a juice and cool towel. We  relaxed by the outdoor swimming pool, indulged in a therapeutic massage in their spa and  worked out in the fitness center.

Rajasthan is a country of good taste and Fairmont Jaipur offers the ultimate luxury experience.!  Fairmont Jaipur’s chefs put together a surprise menu with each dish offering exceptional flavours, amplifying the story of the chef’s talent  for a royal dining experience. This lunch special aims to show the  true relationship of the city to food. Luxurious yet simple, comfortable yet intimate, absolutely delightful! Our fav experience was  a personalised lunch at the saheliyon ki bari where local women from the village cooked a very special meal for us on a chulla on a beautiful winter afternoon.

There is a choice of seven restaurants and lounges at The Fairmont Jaipur. Their all day dining restaurant, Zoya has a range of Indian and Western dishes. They serve up delicious Indian food such as the traditional Rajasthani dish, Laal Maas, a favourite of mine made with lamb and lots of red chilli. But they also serve a whole range of other options from around the word, Thai, Malaysian, Italian.

Anjum, the tea lounge serves up wonderful cakes and homemade pastries as well as fabulous Masala Chai (tea made with spices and milk). You can have your lunch here.  The menu is great.  You can also sample the Fairmont’s ‘Tea Tasting Ceremony’, offering guests the opportunity to taste some of the best teas from around the world, with scones, sandwiches and homemade macaroons.

In India, The Fairmont is present only in Jaipur, as of today. The Fairmont is part of French hospitality group, Accor. It is the largest European hospitality chain, and one of the top ten in the world. Accor owns some of the most leading hotel chains like Grand Mercure, Movenpick, Pullman, Swissotel, Novotel, Ibis, to name a few.
