Top 5 Things to do in Coorg

So I was in Coorg sometime back, the ‘Scotland of India’ as they call it. It’s absolutely beautiful, relaxing and its a heaven for coffee lovers

1. Take a guided Plantation Walk across the Estate

I booked myself on a guided plantation walk across the coffee estate, which is available at all properties in Coorg. It was definitely the highlight of my trip. 71% of Indian coffee is produced in Karnataka along with peppercorn, bird’s eye chilli, butter fruit (avocado) and cardamom.
The estates are beautiful and oh so green where even the air seems to carry the aroma of coffee !!

2. Trek towards the Tadiandamol Peak

Coorg is an all year round destination for adventure enthusiasts. One of the most popular trails for trekking is the Tadiandamol Peak. For a first timer like me, this wasn’t a very difficult trek and the view was absolutely serene. It gave me a kick start to pursue trekking on a serious front and explore the mountains of india

3. Binge on Authentic Coorgi dishes

Ever eaten authentic Coorgi dishes ? I hadn’t, so I reserved a table at the Plantain Leaf at the Evolve Back Resort. You can visit this property even if you aren’t an in-house guest and enjoy a lovely meal and walk across the coffee plantations.

Plantain Leaf is a fine dining vegetarian restaurant at the Evolve Back, formerly known as the Orange County Resort. I ordered the South Indian Thali and the Coorgi dishes blew me away. The curries are tangy, spicy and you will notice that they use a lot of pepper, chilli and garlic in their food.

4. Spend a day at the Taj Madikeri Resort

The Taj Madikeri Resort is surely the best property in Coorg. With a beautiful rainforest view on one side and lush valleys on the other, the Taj Madikeri Resort is an ideal spot for a peaceful vacation.

5. Drink a lot of Coffee !!!

A peaceful stay in Coorg and enjoying freshly brewed coffee everyday, that was literally my game plan. The coffee aroma is so overwhelming, that you can’t stop yourself from sipping on Arabica or Robusto Coffee every now and then.
